An Intern At EF-IF

An Intern Expressing Her Views On working With EF-IF

One of the key experiences recommended during your time as an undergraduate is doing an
internship. Gaining work experience is key for boosting your employability, especially as a
design student. It was at that time I had an opportunity to take up the role as a summer intern
at EF-IF Diamond Jewellery. Joining EF-IF has been a lot more than I thought it would be — in
the best way possible. As a design intern, the amount of exposure received during the two
months has been immense. Under the mentorship of Mr. Karan Bothra, I had an opportunity to
explore and be creative in the field. The creative freedom given by him helped me improve
my skills and explore the field of diamond jewellery. In addition to it, real-time interaction with
customers helped me a lot in understanding the market and designing commercially viable
pieces. My eight weeks at EF-IF allowed me to grow personally, but it also helped me to gain
new skills in designing and customer relationships—an experience that I did not previously
have. I also gained a better understanding of the industry, made a new network, and gained
a few new references for the future. But most importantly, I gained a new sense of
professionalism and a clearer view of what it meant to be in the professional world. Overall,
the experience has been a milestone in my learning process and has helped me build my
career.
